Guide to Rule the Auction

Have you ever wonder how to get into the Storage Auction world, or where to start? We've created a check list of places to start to become a sucessful Auction Hunter!

Call your local Storage facility to find out about their Auction Policy. Some facilities may have an open registration, whereas other facilities have a closed door private Auction.

 Make sure to ask Key questions such as:

* Is there a Registration Fee

* What is the locker deposit fee? (This is a fee in addition to the purchase of your locker. It is usually refundable to ensure the locker has been cleaned our)

 * What is the Time limitations to have
the locker emptied out?

* If you purchase multiple units, is the time
limitation flexable?

* Will the facility keep your registration for future Auctions?

* Ask the office if they have any tips regarding any of the lockers up for Auction. Some places will help you out and tell you what they know. But not all Facilities know about the customers lockers.

Ask these questions before hand, and you will have a lead up on everyone else! Just don't be afraid to pull the trigger on the big lockers.

The bigger the locker, the more chances to find the hidden treasures!

Make a To-Do Lists: Kitchen, Bathroom, Living Room,Laundry. Take one room at a time, and handle one thing on your list at a time. Don't create more of a mess while you are cleaning the other areas. Number one rule to de-clutter; if you haven't used it in a year, throw it away or donate it. If you completely forgot it was there, definitely throw it away! Create a "Throw Away" bag and a "Donate" bag. If you have found that your closets have turned in storage, or even worse, someone else's Storage, Put it on your list! If the kids have grown-up and moved out, let them know to come get their stuff back. In case of kids these could be their childhood treasures which you could not get rid of; Reclaim your space and put it into your storage locker!
